Flood Protection

One of the many ways that our cofferdams are utilized is for enclosure purposes during a flood event. The perimeter is enclosed within predetermined cofferdam sizes, preventing flood waters from reaching the infrastructure or roadway. The Cofferdams can be deployed with minimal manpower and monitored by one or two individuals depending on the project size. Average deployment times range from 6-10 hours depending on availability of resources and manpower. Cofferdams have been utilized to protect power plants, hospitals, elderly care facilities and production facilities, allowing them to stay operational during the event.

Cofferdams can be used to keep roadways open

When rising water prevents roadways from staying open, Cofferdams have been used to keep these paths open. This allows critical supplies to be delivered to disaster-stricken areas while also allowing emergency response vehicles and rescue crews to respond as required. After the disaster event has passed, the Cofferdams are removed, inspected and stored for future use.

The cost of flooding

The impact of flooding extends to employees and citizens of the community. Communal groups may not only suffer property and equipment loss, but also a loss of production and revenue, which ultimately affects the stability of the company causing a loss of employment. Cofferdams used to provide flood protection can help prevent these damaging issues.
